A rigged chore wheel looks like a random chore spinner but lets you choose who gets the job. Add your housemates, secretly long-press the name who should clean the bathroom, and spin. It lands on them, and the fair-looking spin makes it hard to argue with.
Turn chores into a game
Nobody argues with a wheel. That’s the genius of a chore wheel: it takes “you should do it” and turns it into a fun, impartial(-looking) spin. Roommates, couples, families and office kitchens all use them.
How to rig it
- Add everyone’s name (or the chores, if you’d rather spin those).
- Choose the “lucky” one. Either:
- long-press their slice
- press their number key
- Spin, or better, let them spin it.
- Act surprised.
For the long game, open the secret settings (triple-tap the name count) and switch on Keep rigged for every spin. Just don’t push your luck.
Two ways to set up a chore wheel
| Setup | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Names on the wheel | Spin once per chore; the winner does it | One big chore, like the bathroom |
| Chores on the wheel | Each person spins once to get their chore | Weekly rotas |
| Names + “remove winner” | Spin repeatedly; each person is removed after being picked | Dividing several chores fairly-ish |
