Fair Mode is a random name picker wheel with every hidden rig control switched off. Each spin uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator, so every name has exactly equal odds. Use it for anything that needs to be fair, and use the prank wheel for everything else.

Why a prank site has a fair mode

We built a wheel that can be secretly rigged. That makes us very aware that some decisions shouldn’t be. Fair Mode is the same wheel with every hidden control removed:

How Fair Mode picks a name

  1. When you press spin, your browser draws a random number from its cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues).
  2. That number becomes a stopping angle anywhere on the wheel.
  3. The wheel spins five to seven full turns and decelerates to that angle.

Every name gets an equal slice, so every name has an equal chance. With 8 names, each has a 12.5% chance on every spin, whatever happened on earlier spins.

Frequently asked questions

Is Fair Mode really random?

Yes. On this page every hidden trigger (long-press, number keys, hold-to-rig, rigged links) is disabled in code. Each spin uses crypto.getRandomValues for a uniformly random stopping angle.

Does every name have an equal chance?

Yes. Each name gets an equal slice, and the stopping angle is uniformly random across the whole wheel, so each name's chance is exactly 1 in the number of names.

Can a rigged link force a result on this page?

No. Rigged links are ignored in Fair Mode. Only the names from the link are loaded.

Should I use this for a giveaway?

For casual, low-stakes draws, Fair Mode is genuinely random. For prizes with real value, use a dedicated raffle platform with an auditable draw so participants can verify the result.

Are my names stored anywhere?

Only on your own device, in your browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to a server.
